Fees and Pricing

Below is a list of fixed fees for common services. In addition to these services, fixed fees can generally be provided upon request. Note that all fixed fees assume the matter is a standard one and that it proceeds without any major issues or delays.

Where a fixed fee is not provided, fees will be charged based on a combination of the following: the time spent, based on an hourly rate of $350, the complexity of the issues and amounts involved and the extent to which work needed or was requested to be performed on an urgent basis or outside of normal business hours.

HST and disbursements are extra. Disbursements are out of pockets expenses which are incurred on your behalf, such as government filing fees.

Incorporation $750 + disbursements (approx. $215 for federal corporation and $400 for Ontario corporation)
Annual resolutions and filings $250 for resolutions and filings + $50 for dividend resolutions + disbursements (approx. $12)
Corporate resolutions $100
Corporate filings and searches $50 + disbursements
Organize Minute Book $500 (less than 5 years) + disbursements. Additional fee for corporations that are 5 years or older.
Shareholders Agreement $1,200
Includes 1 round of minor amendments requested by third party. Additional work charge at hourly rate.
Employment or Independent Contractor $750
For intial agreement. $250 for additional agreements based on the intiial agreement. Includes 1 round of minor amendments requested by the other party. Additional work charge at hourly rate.
Articles of Amendment $300 for name changes and other standard changes. + disbursements
Dissolution $500 + disbursements
Informational Website $750
E-commerce Website $1,200
Web and/or Mobile App $1,500 and up
A fixed fee can be provided following a consultation.
Standard Will $600 + $150 for Powers of Attorney for Property and Personal Care.
Standard Wills Couples $950 + $250 for Powers of Attorney for Property and Personal Care.
Extras An additional fee is charged for complex situations including Wills which contain any of the following:
  • beneficiary designations
  • life insurance declarations
  • additional or more complex trusts than included in a Standard Will
  • dual wills
  • complex distributions
  • trust company or professional executors
Application for Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee with Will $1,500 where executors are the only beneficiaries and $2,000 in other circumstances.
Application for Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee without Will $2,400
Application for Small Estate Certificate $1,500
Extras The fees above are for an application for a certificate of appointment in standard situations. The fee includes work related to publishing will and/or creditor notices and writing to a financial institution to obtain funds for the estate administration tax. An additional fee is charged for any additional advice and work requested in connection with the estate which may include the following:
  • locating witnesses or beneficiaries and/or preparing an affidavit of execution or other affidavits related to a Will
  • preparing an estate information return
  • dealing with creditors
  • assisting with estate accounts and preparing releases
  • assisting with asset transfers
  • dealing with disputes or passing of accounts
